"Bad Things" by Jace Everett
What song did you discover in a tv show or movie?
My wife and I used to watch True Blood for a while. We stopped shortly after the fairies were introduced. Sometimes, I think about going back to the show to see how some of my favorite characters ended up, but there are so many other shows that want my attention.
Also, that's what fan wikis are for.
"Clint Eastwood" by Gorillaz
Which artist did you discover thanks to a music video?
I remember exactly where I was when this song came on. I was in the living room folding my (kind of) white laundry on a Sunday and watching MTV back in 2000. I had never seen anything like it.
"All At Sea" by Jamie Cullum
Post one of your favorite relaxing songs.
I haven't heard this song in a while.
"Sorry for Party Rocking" by LMFAO
Some albums have a good opening track, but the 2nd track is totally killer. What's your favorite 2nd track song?
I don't know if the first track counts because it's more of an introduction of the album.
"Purple Rain" by Prince & The Revolution
Post one of your favorite songs that has the name of a color in the title.
I think this is one his biggest hits and a movie that I vaguely remember. I love the way that Prince did so many things and never limited himself.
"Ready, Steady, Go!" by Harry Styles
What's your favorite new track released this week?
This wasn't released this week, but it's still pretty recent. I think this is one of my favorite tracks on the album.
"Rolling in the Deep" by Adele
Share a track by your favorite vocalist of all-time.
I think Adele has a wonderful voice and I appreciate that she uses it with restraint. I heard she's taking a little bit of break. I'd rather she do that then force another round of hits that may or may not happen.
"I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A "Rap" Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time" by André 3000
What's your favorite instrumental song?
I remember when this came out and it really reminded me that artist can do different things if they want to. I've loaded this one up and will listen to it as I go to sleep.
"California Love (feat. Roger Troutman & Dr. Dre)" by 2Pac
A song that represents where you live
"Walk This Way" by Hayseed Dixie
Post a cover that's done in a different style than the original version.
I used to listen to a podcast called Coverville and they would frequently have some blue grass covers of different songs. I picked this version because I wrote about the Run-DMC cover and I wanted to highlight how you can do a song in multiple ways.
