I love going to the European meetings of the Homebrew Website Club because I can do it during my lunch and then get back to work.
One of the key things that I enjoyed was the talk about linking to libre.fm. I’m excited by the possibility of sharing what music that I’m listening to with others but not sure about having to maintain another system to connect to my blog. Thus far, I’ve been using Robb’s Lantern website to get information to share media online.
Another thing that we discussed is the desire/need to make websites accessible. Mark Sutherland mentioned that he was using WAVE and I mentioned that I was using ARC. I was kind of embarrassed to say I used the tool just to run it again and find a number of issues with my site.
There was also a small discussion about hidden information on the website. I’ve been trying to get authorship as defined on the indieweb site to work correctly. I’ve since went back to my old way of having the data there but hidden with css.
