Manny Monday November 25th, 2024

Good morning, good evening, and good afternoon.

Well, this is a very, very late addition to my Manny Monday podcast.

But I have to do it because I set out to do it and I really want to finish this.

So, what’s been happening?

Well, great things, great things.

It’s now officially Thanksgiving and for a lot of people it’s Black Friday.

So, Black Friday seems to have started shortly after Halloween.

And it will continue to go on until Christmas here in America.

Because, you know, we want to make sure that capitalism works.

So, part of that is there are different deals going on here and there.

And recently my family came across this deal for a laptop.

It’s going to be a M3 MacBook Air.

And I was very, I am still very hesitant about getting it.

Because, you know, this is a very difficult time of the year.

There’s the expectations for gifts that we have for various family members to show our love and appreciation of friends and family.

And, you know, it’s always good to show people that you care for them.

Whether it’s a little bit or a lot of bit.

So, they came across this laptop and they’re like, OK, well you should get one.

And it’s been, the last time I had a laptop just for me was 2009.

So, it’s definitely been a while.

So, it’s just a little bit of a complication because I feel like, OK, if we were to get it, it would just be for me.

And I feel somewhat guilty for that.

So, we’ll see what happens with that.

And just, OK, how do we say that we’re treating ourselves versus when we’re actually doing something that we could use to move forward with whatever we’re doing.

And I’m still working with that, seeing where this fits in.

Because there are a couple of things, like, for example, if I was to get it, where would I use it?

If I’m at home, why won’t I use our home computer?

And if I’m out and about, like, how long am I going to be doing whatever it is?

So, we’ll see.

And if I do get a new laptop, I’ll let everyone know because that will probably be the machine that I will use for making podcasts.

Because, you know, it’s good.

And I want to make sure that my workflow gets better and better.

I promised I was going to record this before the day of, but life gets in the way and I didn’t follow through on that.

I promised myself to put a time on which to record the podcast.

So, that will happen sometime next week.

On to other things.

Well, right now it is the holidays and things are moving kind of slow.

And I’m really happy for that.

And I’m kind of like, okay, well, there aren’t any real fires and disasters going on at this moment.

And I’m really happy about that.

So, I want to toss this question out there for all those who are listening.

What do you do when the world’s not falling down?

When there isn’t an emergency?

Just feel free to let me know.

Like, hey, what do you do when right now things are calm?

It’s the calm before the storm.

There’s a lot of rumblings about what’s going to happen in the future.

But right now, in this moment, I am here.

I’m trying to be present.

And it feels good to be here.

And I’m enjoying that.

And I think it’s also, unfortunately, leading me to a lull.

Because there are definitely some clouds in the horizon.

And I’m like, okay, well, I can’t stick my head in the sand.

But I want to enjoy this moment while it lasts.

Finally, I want to talk a little briefly about a movie that I recently saw with my wife.

It’s called Monkey Man.

And this movie, I guess, is from India.

It’s got the star from that movie, Slumdog Millionaire.

He’s grown up.

And he’s definitely packed on some muscle.

It’s a John Wick slash social commentary, if you will.

Because it’s definitely an action slash revenge movie.

But it has some aspects of, okay, these are some things that we don’t typically talk about in life.

And I don’t want to give too much away.

But I found it to be a fantastic movie.

And I really, really enjoyed it.

So if you get a chance, check out a trailer for it.

And see if that’s something you want to do.

Well, until next time, I’m just going to keep this thing short.

And I hope that this finds you well.

Bye-bye.
